Here is the color palette I used for this project:
I used both Wilton and Americolor gel pastes to make these colors. The red is Americolor tulip red, but I added a little black to it in order to tone it down (it's a little orangey without it). And, as usual, I added a touch of green to the Wilton brown in order to make it a little less pinkish. The yellow is a mixture of Wilton lemon yellow and golden yellow.
Most of the components of this cookie were piped using flood consistency royal icing except for the rope and the chain, which were piped using stiff consistency icing. Read this post for more information on the different royal icing consistencies. My cookie and royal icing recipes are available here in my tutorial shop.
Before you begin this project, you'll need to know how to make wood grain icing.
Watch the video below to see how I piped these tiny tools.

This is the whole Father's Day cookie set, inspired by my dad.

Absolutely awesome video of fantastic cookies! You make it look so easy! I need to get a scribe tool:)
I love to watch your videos...they are totally hypnotic. 🙂 Do you sell your scribe tools, and/or, where can I get one? It looks like it would work 1000 times better than a toothpick. These father's day cookies are simply adorable!
Thank you, Melissa! I don't have any scribe tools at the moment, but PME sells them. https://www.sweetambs.com/my-favorite-decorating-products/
