It's time for a spring cookie decorating contest! The contest is open now through April 30th. Here's how to enter:
1) If you haven't already, please follow SweetAmbs on either Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram or Twitter (or all 4 if you want!).
3) Create an original spring-themed cookie design using one or more of the following techniques (click on the technique for more information about each one).
Brush Embroidery
Basket Weave
Ruffles
Cracked Glaze
Wet-on-wet
Tufting
3) Send a photo of your cookie in jpg format to amber@sweetambs.com with the subject: Cookie Decorating Contest. Please include your name and a list of the techniques that you used to decorate the cookie. You can also provide a link to your website or social media page that you would like to have associated with the photo. You can make lots of cookies or just one. Each photo submitted is counted as one entry and each person is allowed up to three entries. For example, you can take one photo of a whole set of cookies and it is counted as one entry. I will upload thumbnails of the photos on sweetambs.com with the link to your site. Even though I will always give proper credit and link back to the artist who submitted the work, it is recommended that you watermark your photo.
The cookie photos of the finalists and grand prize winner will be chosen on the basis of creativity and execution of the decorating techniques. Finalists will be chosen on 5/1/13 at 7pm EST. The grand prize winner will be announced on 5/2/13 at 7pm EST.
If you are chosen as a finalist, you will be notified by email. Your cookie photo will be posted here on sweetambs.com. Finalists will receive a badge to post on their website or social media page.
One grand prize winner will be chosen. The grand prize winner will receive: A decorating kit filled with my favorite decorating products including a SweetAmbs apron, scribe tool, brushes, decorating tips, a fleur de lis cookie cutter, pearl dust, gel paste colors, and more. The photo of the grand prize-winning cookie will be posted here on sweetambs.com with a link to the winner's website or social media page if one is provided. The winner will also receive a badge to post on their website or social media page.

I think it is really not nice of you to write this. This contest is clearly for those who have followed and practiced Amber's tutorials, so obviously you need to have at least some basic decorating tools.
And already having a set of tools doesn't mean not wanting/needing more!

That's exactly what I was thinking! You know you are a cookie maker when you get excited about winning things you may already have but can always get more!!! I think it's a fab contest prize!!!
Really all you need is ziplock bags, food color, cookies, and a paintbrush to do some of the more basic techniques... doesn't require too much, you just have to get creative, and isn't that really the purpose here...?

But, I find myself needing duplicates of everything. So, the contest is a fun way to show off my skill and maybe add to my tool collection! Good luck everyone!
