Brush Embroidered Rose Cookies Decorated With Royal Icing

I used the Tissue Paper Method to transfer my rose template onto the cookies. The rose template is available to Cookie Art Club members!

To add shading to these cookies, I used the brush embroidery technique which is one that I've been using since I started decorating cookies over 15 years ago.

Here's what you'll need to make these brush embroidered rose cookies

These supplies are available in my Amazon store unless otherwise noted

  • Chilled sheet of cookie dough (I used my orange cardamom cookie recipe)
  • 3-¼” Hexagon cookie cutter
  • Royal icing
  • Royal Blue and Coal Black food coloring (I used Chefmaster brand food coloring)
  • Scribe tool
  • 2 12” Decorating bags
  • Wilton decorating tip 3 and PME tip 1.5
  • Couplers & Bag ties (I used Wilton brand)
  • Rose template
  • Edible ink marker
  • Tissue paper
  • Stiff decorator brush (I used a Chua Cookie brush)
  • Dish of water
  • Dry paper towel
