Peacock Cookies Decorated with Royal Icing

Piping the feathers on these peacock cookies is a time-consuming process, but well worth the effort! I used natural food coloring to create the colorful feathers on these peacock cookies decorated with royal icing.

The printable supply list, recipes, and instructions are available in the Cookie Art Club!

The feathers on these peacock cookies create a wavy surface, which makes it difficult to pipe the body directly on them. So, I decided to use royal icing transfers to make the bodies of the peacocks so that they would lay flat on the feathers.

To do this, I piped them on a piece of wax paper following a template that I printed out and then let the icing try overnight before removing them. The template is available to members of the Cookie Art Club.
