The Little Mermaid Cookies
My dad brought me to see The Little Mermaid when I was a kid and I’m so excited to do the same with my daughters to see the live action version! You know I love celebrating special occasions with sweets, so I made these cookies of Ariel (Halle Bailey), Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), and Sebastian (voiced by Daveed Diggs).
It took me about 2 hours to paint Ariel, 5 hours to paint Ursula, and 1 hour to paint Sebastian using edible paint from Sweet Sticks, which doesn’t include all the time it takes to make the icing, mix the icing colors, and let it dry. Overall it’s a 2-3 day process. It’s a lot of work but I LOVE it!!

I used wafer paper painted with Sweet Sticks luster dust to make Ariel’s tail. You can add a few drops of water to wafer paper to soften it and then shape it while it’s wet. You can see the whole process in this tutorial in my Cookie Art Club.
This Ursula cookie has taken the top spot as my most time consuming cookie! I spent about 5 hours painting her. I’m so happy with how this cookie turned out, so it was well worth the time!
