Plunger Cookie Cutters From Light In The Box
A couple of months ago, the generous folks at Light In The Box let me pick out some cookie cutters to try. I chose these plunger cutters because I love the shapes! They’re really meant to be used with fondant, but they work on cookies, too! These two shapes worked the best with my cookie dough. I also tried a rose design, which sort of got lost in the baking process. It’s a very pretty design, though, and I bet it would work great with fondant.I hand painted these cookies. No icing required! Here’s what you’ll need for this project:
- Roll out cookie dough (my Orange Vanilla Spice cookie recipe is available in my tutorial shop)
- Plastic Rhombus Pattern Plunger Cutter
- Gold pearl dust – Gold highlighter from NY Cake shown here
- White pearl dust
- Wilton rose gel paste food coloring
- Wilton sky blue gel paste food coloring
- Alcohol or flavored extract to mix with the pearl dust – Read this post for more information on how to make gold royal icing
- Small brush for the application of the pearl dust
- Corn syrup
