Flower Cookie Pops

These cookie pops were inspired by Black Eyed Susans, but they turned out looking a little more like sunflowers! Either way, I hope my video tutorial in the Cookie Art Club inspires you to try it yourself.

With the technique I used in this project, you can turn pretty much any cookie into a cookie pop.

To give these flower cookie pops a more realistic look, I painted the inside edge of the petals with airbrush food coloring. You can also use diluted gel food coloring for this process.

I love displaying flower cookie pops in a vase, but it's hard to keep them in place! To resolve this issue, I filled the vase with granulated sugar, which helps prevent the cookie pops from moving around.

To turn these cookies into cookie pops, I cut a small scrap of cookie dough, brushed it with water, and pressed an oven-safe cookie stick into it.

Then, I baked the cookie dough scrap with the stick and let it cool completely. Once it was cooled, I piped icing on the stick and pressed the decorated cookie on top of it so that the stick is in between the two cookies. This is a great way to turn any decorated cookie into a cookie pop!
