The colors of these sunflower cookies would make them the perfect addition to a fall cookie assortment. Wouldn't they look gorgeous mixed in with a few hand painted fall leaves?

I used a petal tip 101 to make the petals on these sunflowers. It's an unconventional way to use this tip, but it works! The sprinkles create the perfect texture for the center of these sunflower cookies.

If you're not going to be wrapping and shipping these cookies, you could even make this design with buttercream frosting instead of royal icing. Give it a try!

  2. I love these. I copied these last weekend. My icing must have been softer than yours (I'm just learning) but they turned out pretty good for my first attempt! Thanks for the inspiration.

  4. Okay. But this happens with any consistency. I am not adding too much water. I'll try to get a good pic. I'll use the email you posted to me. Rather than copying into a Word file I'll try to send it from the comp. I have a Canon and really do not take good pics. Oh, for a heads up I have to say that this happens with sandwhich bags, parchment cones, and plastic (Wilton) pastry bags.

  5. Hi Amber, Great video. I thought I was going to email cookie pics to you. They are flooded and marbled but I ran into difficulty with my stiff royal icing - well, all my icings - because it gets puffy/volume and is difficult to pipe. I put them aside and will try again. I have no idea why this is happening. Could it be that my hands are too warm or that my home is too warm? Again, it's always a pleasure seeing you/your work on your site.

    1. Thank you, Dona! Do you have a photo of the stiff royal icing? Send it to me so I can try to figure out what's going on there.
