Do you know what these movie-themed cookies have in common?
Okay, I'll tell you! The answer is John Williams. Last Saturday my boyfriend* and I celebrated the 2nd anniversary of our first date and I surprised him with these cookies, each representing a film with music composed by John Williams, along with pair of tickets to see him live at Film Night at Tanglewood.
Here's a little how-to on each of these designs:

Jurassic Park Dino Footprint Cookie

Star Wars Cookie
*I used a non-toxic, non edible gold highlighter to paint the letters, but I recommend using the Super Gold from NY Cake if your cookies will be consumed.
ET Cookie

Home Alone Cookie
- 1) Draw the outline of the house with an edible ink marker and ice the outside with Americolor Super Black flood consistency royal icing and a round tip 2.
- 2) Fill in the house, avoiding the window, with Wilton royal blue flood consistency icing and a tip 2.
- 3) Use a scribe tool to help shape the icing
- 4) Fill in the window with white flood icing and pipe a blue outline around the outside. Allow the icing to dry 8-12 hours.

- 1) Ice a round cookie with royal blue flood icing and a tip 3. Allow it to dry for about 3 or 4 hours in front of a fan. Pipe the shark with white flood icing and a tip 2.
- 2) Fill in the mouth with black flood icing and a tip 2. Allow the icing to dry about 6 hours in front of a fan.
- 3) Paint the edges of the shark and the edges of the cookie with Americolor Super Black mixed with a little bit of alcohol or flavored extract. This is similar to the process of painting with gold. Read more about that in this post on how to make gold icing.
- 4) Paint the eyes.

- 5) Pipe teeth with stiff consistency royal icing and a tip 1.
- 6) Paint the exposed edge of the cookie with a mixture of Americolor Tulip Red and a little bit of alcohol or flavored extract.
Jurassic Park Dino Footprint Cookie
- 1) Draw the outline of the footprint with an edible ink marker and apply some clear piping gel inside the lines.
- 2) Ice around the footprint with a light shade of brown flood consistency icing and a tip 2.
- 3) Immediately cover the cookie with crushed graham crackers.
- 4) Use a brush to help remove the excess crumbs.

Star Wars Cookie
- 1) Ice the cookie in black flood consistency icing and a tip 3. Allow it to dry 8-12 hours and use the scribe tool to scratch the letters into the icing.
- 2) Outline the letters with a light shade of brown medium consistency icing and a tip 1. Allow it to dry about 1 hour in front of a fan.
- 3) Paint the letters with a mixture of gold pearl dust and alcohol or flavored extract.*
*I used a non-toxic, non edible gold highlighter to paint the letters, but I recommend using the Super Gold from NY Cake if your cookies will be consumed.
ET Cookie
- 1) Ice a cookie in white flood consistency royal icing and a tip 3. Allow it to dry about 8 hours in front of a fan, then use a soft brush to stipple the surface with a mixture of Americolor Super Black and alcohol or flavored extract.
- 2) Use the scribe tool to sketch the illustration before you paint.
- 4) With the same mixture of Americolor black and alcohol, use a 2/0 liner to paint the details.
