If you'd like to try the chocolate cookie recipe I used to make these cookies, just replace the cocoa powder with black cocoa powder (I used one from King Arthur Baking Company). I marbled the chocolate cookie dough with some lemon cookie dough, which not only looks really cool but is a fabulous flavor combination! All of my recipes are available to Cookie Art Club members.
I posted a poll on my Instagram Story when making these cookies to ask whether or not I should add royal icing stitches to my star quilt cookies. Some said to leave the cookies as they were, but most of you voted to add stitches and I'm glad that I went with that option!

- 3” square cookie cutter
- Quilt template
- Royal icing
- The Sugar Art natural food coloring in Ruby, Arctic Blue, Sunny, Slate, and Golden Ivory
- 4 Tipless decorating bags
- 5 12” decorating bags
- Couplers
- Decorating tips 1 and 2
- Bag ties or rubber bands
- Scribe tool
