Here's what you'll need to make these seashell and seahorse cookies:
- Roll-out cookie dough (use your favorite recipe or get mine in the tutorial shop)
- Seahorse Cookie Cutter
- Seashell Cookie Cutter
- Flood Consistency Royal Icing
- Medium Consistency Royal Icing
- 12" Decorating Bags
- Couplers
- Decorating tip 1.5
- Decorating tip 2
- Scribe tool
- Blue, Yellow, & Pink food coloring from the Wilton Color Right set
- Fine tip brush (I get my brushes from the art supply section of the craft store)
- Decorator brushes
- Gold luster dust
- White pearl dust
- Paint palette (also from the art supply section of the craft store)
- Grain alcohol, vodka, or extract for painting (Alcohol or flavored extracts are used for painting on royal icing because they evaporate very quickly, which means that the liquid won’t dissolve the icing as you are applying the paint. The stronger the alcohol, the better!)

Instructions:
- Begin by icing a seahorse cookie with white flood consistency royal icing and a decorating tip number 2.
- Use a scribe tool to help shape the icing.
- Allow the icing to dry completely.
- Paint the icing with a mixture of food coloring and vodka or any flavor extract such as vanilla, lemon, or almond.
- Apply a layer of white pearl dust mixed with vodka or any flavor extract such as vanilla, lemon, or almond.
- Pipe the details with light brown medium consistency royal icing and a decorating tip 1 or 1.5.
- Use a dry brush to help shape the lines.
- Allow the icing to dry about 30 minutes.
- Paint the icing with a mixture of gold pearl dust and vodka or any flavor extract such as vanilla, lemon, or almond.
- Repeat the process on the seashell cookie.
- Allow the icing to dry about 30 minutes before filling in the remaining sections.
