Cookie Ornaments for Valentine’s Day

I traced a heart cookie cutter on these cookies and used it as a guide to pipe my details. If you’re not comfortable piping freehand, take a look at my tutorial on how to transfer a template onto a cookie and use the template as a detailed guide for piping.

Here’s what you’ll need to make Ornament Cookies for Valentine’s Day
- Chilled sheet of cookie dough (I used my brown butter cookie recipe – get it in the Cookie Art Club!)
- Ornament cookie cutters (I used Ann Clark brand)
- Small heart cookie cutter
- Royal icing
- Pink food coloring (I used Ann Clark Bubblegum Pink)
- Sweet Sticks Red edible paint
- Sweet Sticks red and pink luster dust
- Scribe tool
- 12” Decorating bags
- Decorating tips 1 or 1.5 and 10 (I used Wilton brand for 1 and 10 and PME for 1.5)
- Couplers & Bag ties (I used Wilton brand)
- Decorator brush (I used Sweet Sticks brand)
- Vodka, grain alcohol, extract, or paint powder activator for painting
- Paint palette or small dishes
- Ribbon
