I made these designs up as I went along, using photos of real crochet doilies as a reference as I piped the icing.
The trick to keeping these designs symmetrical is to use your scribe tool to scratch a guide into the cookie. I split my cookie into 16 equal sections, kind of like a pizza.
It’s been years since I crocheted a doily like this, but these cookies make me want to get back into it! You can see another fun crochet cookie design here.
Here’s what you’ll need to make these crochet doily cookies
These supplies are available in my Amazon store unless otherwise noted
- Chilled sheet of cookie dough (I used my chocolate cut-out cookie recipe – available in the Cookie Art Club!)
- Nested round cookie cutters
- Royal icing
- Brown and yellow food coloring (I used Chefmaster brand)
- 12” Decorating bag
- PME decorating tip 2 and Wilton tip 10
- Coupler & Bag tie (I used Wilton brand)
- Scribe tool
