Here’s what you’ll need to make these easy cookies for Easter:

  • Chilled sheet of cookie dough
  • Egg cookie cutter (I used a 2″ cutter)
  • Chefmaster food coloring in Neon Brite Pink, Neon Brite Orange, Lemon Yellow, Neon Brite Green, Sky Blue, Violet
  • Flood consistency royal icing in pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple
  • Tipless decorating bags
  • Two-in-one tool (I used the one that comes in my cookie decorating kits)

Instructions:

  1. Herringbone: Ice an egg-shaped cookie with flood consistency royal icing.
  2. Use a scribe tool to help shape the icing.
  3. Pipe lines of 2 different colors of flood consistency icing while the base layer is still wet.
  4. Drag the scribe tool back and forth through the icing to create a herringbone pattern.
  5. Polka Dots: Ice the cookie with flood consistency royal icing.
  6. Pipe dots with a different color of flood consistency icing while the base layer is still wet.
  7. Marbled: Ice the cookie with flood consistency royal icing.
  8. Pipe lines of 2 different colors of flood consistency icing while the base layer is still wet.
  9. Swirl the scribe tool through the icing.
  10. Allow the icing to dry about 2 hours.
