Simple Valentine’s Day Cookies

This year I decided to keep things simple with my Valentine’s Day cookies. I used only flood consistency royal icing and a round decorating tip 2. This is unlike my Valentine’s Day cookies from past years, which have involved many icing consistencies, colors, decorating tips and even some fondant!
Valentines-Day-Cookies2 For this project  you will need:
  • Red = Americolor tulip red + burgundy + a touch of black
  • White = a touch of Wilton golden yellow
  • Pink = Wilton aster mauve from the garden tone set
Most of these products can be found on the recommended decorating products page.
Watch this video to see how to decorate these Valentine’s Day cookie designs using the wet on wet royal icing technique:
If you’d like to learn more about cookie decorating but can’t make it to an in person class, my online shop has several video tutorials that will teach you everything from basic techniques such as how to make royal icing, the proper way to hold and fill a decorating bag, flooding a cookie with royal icing to more advanced methods such as how to make fondant rose petals and brush embroidered flowers.                        OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA ValentinesDay4 SweetAmbs_Cookie_Box (6)

    • Hello: I’m inspired to attempt to make these cookies for Valentine’s Day. (Not a baker or cook). Do you decorate 1 cookie at a time, make a batch of white icing and red icing and then decorate a cookie for the wet on wet look. 😃

  3. I had a question. I would love to send the heart shaped valentine cookies, minion and maybe something in purple (her favorite color) flowers possibly. To my estranged girlfriend for Valentine’s Day. Can you cookies be purchased anywhere? Please let me know or if you have a cookie selection recommendation. Thank you.
