Red And White Christmas Cookies

These red and white Christmas cookies were made entirely free hand without the use of stencils or guides. I made a short video to show how I created the tiny deer using royal icing. Download my cookie and icing recipe here

I began with a 4″ Christmas tree cookie, which I iced and let dry overnight.

While trying to come up with a design for my Christmas cookies this year, my mom suggested that I use only red and white.  A few days later, I saw this red and white tablecloth on my friends’ dining table. It became the inspiration for the filigree trees.

These cookies are available for sale in my Etsy shop:

Thanks for the suggestion, mom! And thanks, T&J for having an awesome tablecloth.

  3. WOW, I´m so impressed with you looks so easy..I´m always afraid of working with RI, because the consistence of my homemade recipe is weather too smooth so it rinse always of the cake…some trials went wrong…will try your recipe anyway…hope it will work out! greetings from austria!
