Cookie Decorating Demo and Book Signing in Beacon, New York

I’ll be signing books and demonstrating a few of my favorite cookie decorating techniques including brush embroidery and the wet-on-wet rose this Saturday, June 24th at Echo in Beacon, New York! The event is open to the public and admission is free, so come by and say hello! I’ll be there from 1:00-3:00pm.

Thank you to Karen Donohue of Echo for these beautiful photos of my cookies!

I’m back!

I just returned to work after two months of maternity leave. It’s great to be back and a little weird all at the same time! This is the longest I’ve gone without decorating a cookie in the last 8 years. When I picked up the piping bag again, I was happy to find that I haven’t forgotten how to do it!

Since I’ve been back, I’ve been working on a couple of Valentine’s Day video tutorials and trying to catch up on all the administrative stuff that got neglected over the last two months. There are also some collaborations in the works that I’ll be sharing with you in the coming weeks. It’s a lot to do, especially now that I’m working part time (down from about 50 hours before my daughter was born!). While I would love to stay home with her all day, I feel fortunate that I’m at least able to spend almost half of my week with her while still being a working mom.

In other news: I’ve been nominated for a Shorty Award! The Shorty Awards honor the best in social media, so I was pretty thrilled to hear that I’m a nominee. I’m up against some pretty stiff competition (Marcus Samuelssen and Tasty just to name a couple!). If you have a minute, you can head over to the website to vote for me!
