Sugar Skull Cookies!
I’ve had lots of requests for sugar skull cookies lately for the upcoming Mexican Tradition Día de Muertos, and it’s been on my list of designs to try ever since seeing Cupookie’s version a couple of years ago.
I don’t know what took me so long, but I have to say that if I had to make only one cookie for the rest of my life, this would be it! It was so much fun to let my piping bag go wild creating the patterns and then coloring them in with vibrant hues.

I didn’t have a skull cookie cutter on hand (can you believe they’ve already replaced the Halloween cookie cutters with Christmas decorations at the craft store?!), so I made a card stock template and cut the dough around it using a paring knife. –
