Red And White Christmas Cookies

These red and white Christmas cookies were made entirely free hand without the use of stencils or guides. I made a short video to show how I created the tiny deer using royal icing.

I began with a 4″ Christmas tree cookie, which I iced and let dry overnight.

While trying to come up with a design for my Christmas cookies this year, my mom suggested that I use only red and white.  A few days later, I saw this red and white tablecloth on my friends’ dining table. It became the inspiration for the filigree trees.
