How To Make Pizza Cookies!
This pizza cookie was an idea that came out of a collaboration with Andrea Volpini of Different Taste. Andrea creates beautiful dishes from around the globe and shares the recipes on his YouTube channel. For our collaboration, we decided that he would make a Caprese style pizza with tomato, mozzarella and basil, and that I would make a cookie to match. This is my pizza color palette. I used a blend of Americolor Tulip Red with Wilton Lemon Yellow to make the reddish orange color that I used for the sauce. The tomatoes were made with a blend of red and a tiny bit of Americolor Super Black. The green for the basil is Wilton Kelly Green, and the fresh mozzarella cheese was made with plain white flood consistency royal icing. As you’ll see in the video below, I applied a log of dough around the edge of a raw cookie in order to make the pizza crust. The cookie shown here measures 3″ in diameter and was made using my Orange Vanilla Spice recipe, which is available in my tutorial shop.
Here are the other supplies that you’ll need for this project:
- Flood consistency royal icing in reddish orange, red, green and white
- Scribe tool
- Decorating tips 1, 3, and a petal tip 101
