Nintendo Cookies!

When I was introduced to Super Mario Brothers in the late 80s, I played so much that my parents had to take the controllers away from me! Good thing I don’t have Nintendo now. I’d never get anything done. This is why I loved working on this project. Jac from The Vegetarian Baker made Nintendo cookies to look just like the controllers from the original NES! You can see how to make them on his YouTube Channel.
For my part of this collaborative project, I made these mushroom and star cookies. I wanted every edge of every little square to be sharp, which involved lots of scribe-tooling (as you will see in the video)!
SweetAmbs-Nintendo-CookiesHere’s what you’ll need for this project:
  • Red = Americolor tulip red + burgundy
  • Black = Americolor super black
  • Blue = Wilton sky blue
  • Green = Americolor leaf green
  • Yellow = Wilton lemon yellow + golden yellow
Most of these products can be found on my recommended decorating products page.
Watch the video below for instructions on how to decorate these Nintendo cookies:
Here’s that pattern I was talking about in the video. I started out with a 3″ cookie and drew a 2-1/2″ square, then filled the square with a 20×20 grid (1/8″ fits into 2-1/2″ 20 times).
