New Cookies For The New Neighbors!
Moving is exhausting. 3 months after closing, we finally moved into our new house! Of course, every room is piled high with furniture and boxes, but I’m looking forward to getting unpacked and settled in.

With a new house comes new neighbors, and my neighbors get cookies! The pastel base on these brush embroidered cookies was inspired by Sweetapolita’s watercolor technique from her new book, The Sweetapolita Bake Book.

Rather than applying the colors to dry icing, I applied the colors to white flood consistency icing while it was still wet because I wanted to be able to marble the colors together. This technique is similar to how I made my rainbow tie dye cookies, but with random blotches instead of concentric circles and spirals. I used Wilton Color Right for these cookies, just like I did for the tie dye design, but I added more liquid in order to get pastel shades. Once I applied the edible watercolor to the wet icing with a brush, I swirled them together with a scribe tool.

After allowing the icing to dry completely, I added flowers using the brush embroidery technique with teal stiff consistency icing and a small brush. I just love how these cookies turned out!
