Decorated Bee Cookies with Royal Icing

Decorated bee cookies. The cookies are hexagon shaped with navy blue royal icing and a light blue and gold honeycomb pattern. There are royal icing bees on the cookies painted with gold and bronze edible luster dust. The cookies have a gold bead border around the edges. The cookies are on a white rectangle pattern on a wooden surface.

I used the wet-on-wet technique and the royal icing transfer technique to make these decorated bee cookies.

This design was requested by my subscriber Vicki on Patreon (she also requested the shark cookies that I posted a few weeks ago!). I love hearing your suggestions for tutorials, so please let me know in the comments if you have a request!

If you look closely you’ll see that the edges of these cookies are a little darker than the middle, which was caused by butter bleed. Normally butter bleed is a nuisance and creates blotches or yellow spots on the cookies, but this time it actually added some nice shading! 😃
