I used the royal icing transfer method to create the adorable buttons on the mason jar cookie and the flowers. The icing consistency is slightly thicker than flood consistency – it holds its shape, but it’s thin enough that it’s easy to smooth out with the scribe tool.
The stitches are piped in medium consistency royal icing. Find detailed tutorials on icing consistency and royal icing transfers (that’s the method I used for the buttons) in my tutorial shop or access them by becoming a subscriber.
