I’m back!

I just returned to work after two months of maternity leave. It’s great to be back and a little weird all at the same time! This is the longest I’ve gone without decorating a cookie in the last 8 years. When I picked up the piping bag again, I was happy to find that I haven’t forgotten how to do it!

Since I’ve been back, I’ve been working on a couple of Valentine’s Day video tutorials and trying to catch up on all the administrative stuff that got neglected over the last two months. There are also some collaborations in the works that I’ll be sharing with you in the coming weeks. It’s a lot to do, especially now that I’m working part time (down from about 50 hours before my daughter was born!). While I would love to stay home with her all day, I feel fortunate that I’m at least able to spend almost half of my week with her while still being a working mom.

In other news: I’ve been nominated for a Shorty Award! The Shorty Awards honor the best in social media, so I was pretty thrilled to hear that I’m a nominee. I’m up against some pretty stiff competition (Marcus Samuelssen and Tasty just to name a couple!). If you have a minute, you can head over to the website to vote for me!

  1. Congratulations!! Being a mom is one of the best jobs in the world 🙂 I voted for you and shared! I love watching your tutorials and so do my girls. You definitely deserve the award! Good luck, and blessings to you and your family!

    • Thanks, Joan! I’m glad you found me! I don’t sell my cookies anymore, I’m only offering online classes and video tutorials. I have a studio where I decorate the cookies and film my videos in Kingston 🙂

  2. Congrats on your new baby! They are life changing and the first few months go by so quickly. Love your work, so I definitely voted for you and shared! Congrats, you deserve the award!

  3. Congratulation mom!!!! God bless you and the baby.
1- Can I refrigerate the cookie without the icing and one week later decorate with the icing?

2- Can I refrigerate the cookie with the icing and after a week put them individualy in the plastic bag for a birthday celebration?

3- How long can I leave the finished cookie (inside the bag) in room temperature?
