Buttercream Rose Birthday Cake

When it comes to baking for my family on the weekends, I stay far away from cookies😂

I still love making cakes just for fun, so everyone gets their favorite cake on their birthday.

This buttercream rose cake for my mom is a white layer cake filled with white chocolate pudding and raspberry jam and iced in vanilla buttercream. The pearls are Lindt white chocolate truffles dusted with white pearl dust (finally found a use for that leftover Christmas candy!).

Just like I did for my daughter’s birthday cake, I used Jell-O pudding for the filling. To add white chocolate flavor, I added a packet of white hot chocolate mix and about a 1/2 cup of chopped white candy melts.

I piped the roses with a Wilton petal tip 104 and used a large leaf tip for the leaves. The shell border is piped with a Wilton star tip 21.

I used this White Cake Recipe from Sugar Spun Run: https://sugarspunrun.com/the-best-white-cake-recipe/

Happy birthday, mom!

  1. Amber, this cake is so elegant, and so Sweetambs. Love what you did with the Lindt pearls, they really look like real pearls! You always have such clever ideas.
